Head of Ecommerce - Interim Maternity Leave Coverage
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Digital & eCommerce will play a strategic role on the leadership team in driving the company's eCommerce business. The Head of eCommerce will be responsible for eCommerce financial performance and site maintenance, ensuring that experience, merchandising, and content all deliver on goals while also managing customer service and operations to ensure a positive customer experience. The Head of eCommerce will partner closely with finance, merchandising, operations, marketing, creative, design, external agencies/partners, and the entire leadership team. In this role, you will provide thought leadership, communicate strategic direction, and execute a successful eCommerce/digital growth and commercial plan.
This role will support the team from September to February to ensure smooth operations and execution while the current VP is on maternity leave. The position is part-time at 20-25 hours a week with flexibility, with increased support (~35 hours a week) during key commercial events, especially throughout November & BFCM.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead the eCommerce team to operate and deliver on goals and key strategies supporting P&L and growth plans. Act as a key conduit to the team and SLT.
* Drive and lead the commercial plan and Black Friday/Cyber Monday execution. Serve as a liaison between leadership and executional teams to ensure strategic positioning and flawless execution to meet financial and operational goals.
* Manage and coordinate all marketing communication efforts across digital channels, including email and mobile platforms, ensuring sales and margin goals are met.
* Develop and foster effective relationships with cross-functional partners including Marketing and Creative to support acquisition and retention marketing efforts.
* Support and lead the retention team in driving retention through site experience, email, media, search, SMS, in collaboration with Marketing and Creative.
* Participate in key milestone meetings to ensure eCommerce influence and execution align with financial and assortment goals.
* Work closely as a thought partner and support to the Head of Marketing, focusing on site and performance marketing.
* Support and lead the team in optimizing the customer journey onsite to enhance experience, storytelling, and meet commercial objectives.
* Lead relationships with developers, outside agencies, tech partners, etc., to improve and evolve site experience.
* Lead weekly eCommerce business meetings, driving insights and actions with the team.
CANDIDATE CHARACTERISTICS
* Experience leading an eCommerce business and team, with responsibility for P&L, site experience, and team leadership.
* Familiarity with Shopify, including reporting and site management, as well as key technology partners like ESP, product recommendations, search, etc.
* Data-driven, with a consumer-first focus and a strong track record of using analytics to inform strategy and growth.
* Excellent communicator, leader, and collaborator, capable of influencing cross-functional teams and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
* Organized, detail-oriented, solution-focused team player.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with decision analysts to derive insights.
* Proven ability to articulate and address complex business issues and opportunities.
* Skilled in promoting collaboration and resolving problems across all levels of a business.
