What You'll Do

The Workday Manager serves as the strategic and operational leader for the Workday team, with primary responsibility for the design, governance, and optimization of the Workday Module platform and related technologies. This role helps to shape systems strategy in alignment with the organization's goals and ensures the delivery of data-driven insights, seamless operations, and exceptional end-user experiences working closely with the Workday Program Director.

The Workday Manager is responsible for leading a team of analysts (I-IV), managing project roadmaps, overseeing system integrations and upgrades, and fostering collaborative partnerships with HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep Workday expertise, project management skills, and a strong background in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Overall ownership for the ongoing design, deployment, and maintenance of the Workday HCM system.
  • Serve as a strong consultative partner to business and functional leaders to continuously improve service delivery.
  • Lead the governance process, road mapping exercises, and cross-functional resource planning.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute the strategic roadmap for Workday.
  • Serve as the functional owner for the Workday HCM areas of responsibility, ensuring cross-module alignment to effectively support organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and prioritize enhancements, automation, and reporting initiatives.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the Workday Program Director.
  • Lead the Workday support team ensuring day-to-day systems support is balanced with strategic enhancements and projects.
  • Overall accountability for data governance, security and compliance.
  • Manage, coach, and mentor a team member; provide training and development plans.
  • Set goals, measure performance, and foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
  • Coordinate resource allocation across projects, support tickets, and business-as-usual operations.
  • Oversee system configuration, security, and business process design for Workday HCM modules.
  • Lead governance processes for change requests, ensuring alignment with compliance and business needs.
  • Monitor and assess impacts of Workday HCM releases, coordinate testing and deployment.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all modules.
  • Evaluate feasibility of system modifications and enhancements.
  • Oversee development of dashboards and reports for HR, leadership, and compliance needs.
  • Partner with internal audit and compliance to support reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure up-to-date documentation of system functions, processes, and capabilities.
  • Lead or support technology projects including module implementations, integrations, and system optimizations.
  • Manage vendor relationships and serve as primary liaison to Workday Customer Success Manager.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and other departments to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Information Systems or related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in configuration of systems and analysis roles
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Workday Pro Certification in HCM.
