Job Summary

The Unarmed Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and the public by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance systems, and enforcing site rules and procedures. This role involves observing and reporting suspicious activities, responding to emergencies, and providing excellent customer service. The guard acts as a visible deterrent to crime and helps ensure the overall safety of the location. A valid Arizona DPS Unarmed Guard Card is required or must be obtained prior to employment.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensing: Possession of a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) Unarmed Guard Card or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
• Experience: Prior security experience is preferred but not required.
• Skills:
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Basic computer proficiency for report writing and surveillance monitoring.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds if necessary.
  • Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, including inclement weather.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify and address potential security threats.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies, coordinating with emergency services as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
• Provide excellent customer service to visitors and staff, addressing inquiries and concerns.

Skills:

The required skills for this position, such as security guard experience and knowledge of access control, are essential for effectively monitoring the premises and ensuring safety. Proficiency in fire control and alarm systems allows the guard to respond quickly to emergencies, minimizing risks to individuals and property. Strong radio communication skills are vital for maintaining contact with team members and coordinating responses to incidents. The ability to operate innovative security technologies enhances the guard's effectiveness in monitoring and managing security operations. Additionally, physical skills, such as the ability to climb stairs and conduct thorough patrols, are necessary for maintaining a secure environment throughout the facility.
