Summary: The Network Engineer has primary responsibility for remote and onsite service work to all network equipment and systems. Project implementation along with long-term client support, which includes heavy interaction with end-users in diverse and manufacturing computing environments.

Key Accountabilities:

·Monitor and maintain network systems including:

o Windows Server

o VMWare Servers

o All PC, Server, LAN, WAN and SAN Hardware

Monitor online and local logs to ensure proactive management of all systems

· MS SQL Database Servers, troubleshoot issues, and perform database maintenance as required.

· Support network infrastructure switching and routing equipment.

· Monitor system patches, backups, anti-virus, and anti-spam systems.

· Coordinate priorities and communicate technical issues with co-workers and management to ensure that the issues are resolved expediently.

· Escalate complex or high impact issues/events to other team members or support groups in a timely and appropriate manner.

· Assist with the creation of and upkeep of accurate network documentation.

· Analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing wired and wireless network systems

· Handle repairs and exchanges of defective devices

· Collaborate on the improvement of network design and connectivity

· Perform routine network maintenance

· Maintain inventory of network equipment, including required spare parts for systems in all locations

Education and Experience

· High School diploma or G.E.D.

· Experience with DNS/DHCP support

· Experience with Virtualization tools (vmWare, Citrix XenApp – a plus)

· Experience with Windows IIS and SQL server administration

· Experience configuring and troubleshooting email services including SMTP, POP, IMAP, Exchange

· Experience with server-class hardware including software, hardware, SAN

· Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of clients, including remote clients

· Basic administration of enterprise e-mail application, including add/remove users and group, configure folder permissions if applicable, forward mail to other accounts, and add aliases

· Troubleshooting and configuration

· Installation, configuration, troubleshooting and customization of MS Office applications per client’s preferences

· Solid understanding of and ability to install, configure and test workstation hardware including video cards, NICs, sound cards, hard drives, and wireless configurations

· Ability to create images for laptops and desktops

· Server Platforms Required: Windows 2008/2012; Virtualization
