This unique role blends backup medical assistance and administrative support with the exciting opportunity to lead support staff and coordinate special projects and activities for the Recovery Services programs and our patients. This role involves working directly with individuals on their journey through or towards recovery from substance use, celebrating their strengths and milestones, and providing caring support. Responsibilities include balancing compassionate tasks as a leader and medical assistant, collaborating with other medical assistants to ensure smooth daily operations, providing backup MA coverage, preparing materials for team rounds, coordinating meetings and trainings, managing patients' monthly injectable medication care, interfacing with specialty pharmacies, providing problem-solving support, involvement in grant applications and tracking, overseeing ordering of supplies and patient education materials, maintaining records and reports, implementing program policies and guidelines, collaborating with quality improvement teams, assisting in policy compliance and workflow development, and maintaining professional and courteous interactions with patients and coworkers. Education required includes High School Diploma or G.E.D., graduation from a Certified Medical Assistant Program, BCLS certification, and bilingual skills preferred. Experience required is two years as a Medical Assistant with demonstrated leadership ability. Travel between South End and East Boston Recovery Services locations is required.
