POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for developing, executing, and tracking all marketing initiatives to increase community engagement, support membership growth, and promote the YMCA’s mission. This part-time position ensures all communications reflect the YMCA’s brand voice, values, and mission, while leveraging various marketing technologies to reach key audiences effectively.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Programs, Services, and Facilities

  • Under the direction of the Operations Director, the Marketing Coordinator will identify target markets and effectively create marketing objectives to engage and maintain prospective members.
  • Create engaging flyers, brochures, and promotional collateral for programs, events, and association-wide initiatives using design software.
  • Work with community representatives and support outreach through business and community partnerships to extend the YMCA’s presence and impact.
  • Draft and distribute time-sensitive communications to program participants, such as emergency closures or updates, via email and other communication platforms.
  • Attend special events and programs to capture high-quality photograph, photo and video content. Conduct interviews and gather testimonials to support storytelling and promotional goals.
  • Maintains Association social media platforms and ensures all posts and communications are aligned with the Association mission and values. Create new posts and interact with users while maintaining positive engagement.
  • Manage and grow Association social media platforms with engaging, mission-driven content. Respond to comments and messages to foster community engagement and maintain a positive brand image.
  • Develop and execute digital campaigns across email marketing platforms and paid social media channels.
  • Stay informed on current and upcoming programs, events, and marketing needs to maintain relevance in communications and maximize visibility.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to members, staff, and guests both in-person and via phone or digital platforms.
  • Promote safety and enforce YMCA risk management standards in marketing materials and public interactions.
  • Establish strong relationships with members, families, and program participants, encouraging involvement and volunteerism.
  • Ensure marketing content complies with YMCA brand standards, child protection policies, and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, emergencies, dress guidelines, and cleanliness standards.
  • Act as representative of the YMCA at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience using CapCut for video editing.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience using Canva for design and content creation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Affinity Suite (Photo, Designer, Publisher) and/or other graphic design tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in digital and traditional marketing methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to craft engaging and mission-aligned content.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/Mandarin is a plus.

  • First Aid and CPR/AED certification required within 30 days of hire

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
