About the Role:

Were looking for a dependable and communicative 1:1 Life Skills Coach/Job Coach to provide in-home support for one person and job coaching support for another. Both men are in their 20s and live in the North Denver Metro area. Both of them communicate verbally and have a desire to increase their independence at home and with a new job, respectively.

The male who wants in-home support needs a provider to help him organize his space and work on things like setting a cleaning routine and encourage healthy eating habits. The male who wants job coaching support has never had a job before but has plenty of skills to offer and is an easy-going guy who is excited to get out of the house more and into the community.

This role could grow into serving additional clients, if provider is open to it, and involves a combination of tasks, depending on the needs of the clients:

  • Life Skills Coaching : Teach and support daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, and practicing good hygiene.
  • Job Coaching : Communicate the job search process thoroughly with all parties involved and support the participants in their positions once employment is secured. This includes modifying tasks to match needs/skill levels, modeling tasks for training purposes, and advocating with employers to ensure fair treatment.
  • Relationship Building: Foster deep connections by offering support, understanding, and mentorship to clients, making a true difference in their lives.
  • Mentorship: Build strong relationships and help clients grow into the best versions of themselves.
  • Advocacy: Empower clients to make healthy decisions and advocate for themselves.
  • Transportation : Safely transport clients to and from appointments or activities.
  • Documentation : Keep accurate records and notes in a timely manner.

Expected Outcomes:

Within 15 Days:

  • Acquaint yourself with Stepping Stone's approach to empowering individuals with IDD.
  • Build trust and rapport with your participants to understand their unique needs and challenges.

Within 30 Days:

  • Initiate small, participant-specific changes aimed at improving his self-sufficiency and engagement.
  • Develop personalized, short-term goals that align with participants abilities and aspirations.

Within 45 Days:

  • Monitor and record improvements and milestones achieved by participant and refine your approach as needed.
  • Document tangible progress in participants daily living skills, social interactions, or other predefined metrics.

Need to Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and proof of current auto insurance
  • Previous experience or a strong desire to work with an at-risk population
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience in life skills coaching, as a home health aide or direct-care provider
  • Tech-savvy skills, for record-keeping and documentation

PART-TIME Schedule:

  • Our In-Home support need has 10 hours each week. Our Job Coaching need will require about 2-3 hours initially to help with the resume and application, then about 4 hours a week to support with training and maintaining the new job. Combined hours will equal 12-14 hrs./wk.


Location:

  • Services will be in the Arvada and Thornton, CO areas with the option to go out in the community as well.

Pay Rate:

  • $18.30/hour
