Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr Title: Cloud Engineering- Migration focus Location: Rochester, NY; hybrid candidates with 10% travel required The objective of the Role: Cloud Engineer will be a key technical resource responsible for helping customers move their workloads from on-premises or other cloud environments to AWS. You will work closely with Cloud Architects and senior team members to assess, plan, and execute migrations that align with customer business objectives and technical requirements.. Top candidates will have the following: Technical understanding of cloud infrastructure and migration methodologies Experience with server, application, and database migrations Familiarity with AWS migration tools and services Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Attention to detail and methodical approach to migration planning Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy Good communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences Understanding of networking concepts and configurations Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and approaches Required Experience for the Role: Must have 1-3 years of experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS Must have AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification or ability to obtain within 3 months Must have basic understanding of server operating systems (Windows and Linux) Must have experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) Must have familiarity with AWS migration tools (Application Migration Service, Database Migration Service) Must have understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, routing) Must have experience with infrastructure as code tools (CloudFormation, Terraform) Must have knowledge of basic security concepts (IAM, security groups, NACLs) Preferred Experience for the Role: AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification Experience with large-scale migration projects Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) Knowledge of database technologies (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) Responsibilities, including success measures and KPIs: Assessing on-premises infrastructure and applications for migration readiness Executing server, application, and database migrations using AWS migration tools Configuring and deploying AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform Implementing AWS networking services such as VPC, Direct Connect, and Transit Gateway Assisting with application testing and validation post-migration Documenting migration processes, configurations, and runbooks Supporting cutover activities during migration events Troubleshooting and resolving migration-related issues Implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions Assisting with cost optimization after migration completion The salary range provided is a general guideline.
