We do not approach our work with partners through commoditized creative services — we generate new IP for brands, work across compelling mediums like animation, and incubate our own brands, like Victory Journal. 

About the Role

We’re looking for a Business Development & Partnerships Lead to help shape the future of our studio’s growth. This role will focus on identifying and cultivating early-stage relationships with prospective clients and collaborators. You’ll be responsible for building an intentional, qualified pipeline of opportunities — from sports teams, cultural institutions, and startups to brand teams and agencies — that align with D&C’s creative ambition, growth KPI’s, and strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and research new business opportunities and partnership leads across industries aligned with our work.
  • Develop and manage an early-stage sales funnel, from outreach through to warm leads.
  • Continuously nurture all partner relationships to drive client retention, service, and experience.
  • Work closely with Director of Business Development & Strategy to prioritize opportunities and shape pitch positioning, create tailored outreach strategies, introductory decks, and credential materials.
  • Attend relevant industry events, conferences, and gatherings to represent D&C.
  • Maintain and update CRM tools to track outreach and relationship development.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Business Development & Strategy and creative teams to ensure alignment between client needs and studio capabilities.
  • Schedule qualified meetings between prospects and senior sales executives

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales — ideally within creative, agency, or media environments.
  • Strong understanding of the cultural, commercial, and creative landscape.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident in navigating early conversations with C-suite, senior brand, marketing, and creative stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple outreach efforts simultaneously, while also nurturing existing relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit — comfortable building and iterating on systems from the ground up; not only for our studio but for our partners.
  • Passion for sports, storytelling, design, and cultural impact.
